“Can massages relieve stress?”
I'm 34 and work a lot so I'm under a lot of stress very often. Can massages help me relieve it? I'd rather have a good massage rather than taking some medication for my stress levels.

Massage will alleviate stress. The degree to which it does so correlates to your ability to shut off your mind, succumb to the healing touch of the therapist, and then commit to more balance in your life. What you do in the office, and outside of the office should look Iike similar pieces of a pie. Incorporate time to relax, exercise, fresh air, healthy diet. And a massage regularly will all work together to get you back to a good lifestyle.
Hello! Massage can definitely help with stress management. The fact you’re doing something to take care of you is going to help. A good therapist will also give you some things to do in your own to help with stress. To start, try to get 7-9 hours of sleep per night (I know, it may sound impossible to some) it’s a great affordable way to decrease stress and drop your cortisol levels. Thanks for asking!
Massage is very good at lowering stress. There are many therapists out there, I would recommend shopping around till you find the best fit for your needs and remember to communicate your needs and goals for the massage session clearly so they can help you acheive your goals.
Stress can come from many sources, usually physical, mental, emotional, spiritual etc. massages will help relieve physical stress, which can sometimes reduce the overall load enough to make you feel better. Osteopathic Treatments are even more effective than massage at achieving this goal. Identifying sources of mental, emotional, and spiritual stress, and addressing those through counseling and lifestyle modifications is critical and often overlooked in treating stress.
