Can prostate problems affect kidneys?

I am a 19 year old male. I want to know if prostate problems can affect kidneys?

A 19-year-old should not have prostate problems. An older adult male could have severe prostate enlargement which may obstruct the ability to urinate causing bladder outlet obstruction leading to urinary retention and hydronephrosis which can damage the kidneys.

I don't expect any prostate problems for people in your age.
Yes! For example a markedly enlarged prostate can cause urinate retention (a back up of urine) which can cause an Acute kidney injury, which may result in long lasting damage: Chronic Kidney Disease.
