“Can vitamin deficiencies cause anxiety?”
I am a 28 year old male. My doctor told me that my anxiety can be caused by vitamin deficiencies. Can vitamin deficiencies cause anxiety?

Nutrients, vitamins and minerals are vital for maintaining your mental health. When these things are out of balance, symptoms like depression, anxiety and fatigue can rear their ugly little heads. If your mental health could use some support, it’s worth checking out if you are deficient.
Yes. Deficiencies in Vitamin D [which tend to be prevalent in northern states] is associated with cognitive/memory issues, depression and anxiety. Would have your PCP check your Vitamin D levels as you may need supplementation. Additionally, Folate [type of Vitamin B] is an important vitamin in helping our brain make neurotransmitters and hormones necessary to mood, sleep, thoughts and cognition. Would add an over the counter supplement of 4-25 mg a day.
