Can you be allergic to antibody testing?

My 7 year old son is allergic to a lot of things. Can you be allergic to antibody testing?

Antibody tests are blood tests-no!

Not sure the test you refer to, but If this is testing wherein the patient has blood drawn, then receives several vaccines and then again has blood drawn to see the changes in antibody levels there is a rare chance of an allergic reaction to the vaccines used but severe reactions to vaccines are very rare.

No. It only takes blood for tests.
No, it is impossible to be allergic to antibody testing. Antibody testing is just drawing blood, just like they would for any other blood test. The blood is then sent to the lab to be tested for antibodies. Don’t worry about it at all. Your son will be fine.

Randall Fisher, M.D.
An antibody test is performed on blood drawn from the arm, so there is no exposure to anything that your son could be allergic to.
