IV sedation for endoscopy could be heavy and you won't remember.
If your GI doctor gives you medications, it will be a light sedation, so you will feel the endoscope but it may not bother you, and you may not remember the procedure afterward. On the other hand, if you have an anesthesiologist give you deep sedation, you will not be awake for the endoscopy, will not be aware of the procedure when it is happening, and awaken when it has been completed. The choice of light or deep sedation is yours.
