I am a 27 year old female and I take birth control pills. Can you get pregnant if you miss one pill?

Not likely if you went ahead and doubled up. But it would be best to use condoms or abstain until your next period just to be safe.

Is it possible or likely? Yes! It is thus advised to double on the pill the next day to cover the missed dose the day prior.
Unlikely to get pregnant if you miss one pill. If you miss one pill, double up the next day (take the pill you missed and the pill you are due to take)

You CAN get pregnant if you miss one pill. The risk is low, but it still exists. Typically, the risks increase when you miss more than 2 pills in a month.
