“Can you have implants with receding gums?”
I am a 29 year old female. I want to know if you can have implants with receding gums?

Short answer is yes. How will the crown on the implant looks may be an issue depending on how much gum and bone have receded. The location where the implant will be placed is a factor as well. As always, see your dentist for a consultation.
Hello,
We always need to make sure that there is enough attached gingiva before we do an implant procedure. If there are receding gums and the gum tissue is thin, then it is best to discuss with your dentist and to get the area checked for keratinized tissue (attached gingiva). There are options like grafting and pinhole surgeries that can be discussed before implants are
placed.
Hope that helps.

Most of the time, you can have implants with receding gums. It depends how much bone loss there has been. If there is a lot of bone loss, you can have bone grafting first. But the cause of receding gums is usually poor oral hygiene. You must learn to clean your mouth properly or any implant can fail just like a tooth from poor oral hygiene.

Yes, but it would be important to address the cause of the recession. Is it periodontal disease, poor occlusal (biting) forces? Schedule an exam with your dentist for a more thorough examination.
