“Can you put a bridge on an implant?”
I am a 38 year old male. I want to know if you can put a bridge on an implant?

Like the name "bridge" implies, there is an anchor at either end with a span or length that is supported by the anchors at the ends. So, if you have space to put 3 teeth for example, you can put one implant an each end to serve as the anchors for the bridge with a "fake tooth" in the center that is not supported by an implant. The bridge will all be one piece, but when it is cemented into your mouth, it will look like you have 3 teeth, but only the end ones will have the implants under them.
IF THE ROOT HAS ROOT CANAL AND IS SEAL IT SHOULD BE OK SINCE TO PRESERVE BONE IT IS SOMETHING THAT WE DO. BUT IF IT IS LEFT AS PART OF EXTRACTION OR TOOTH IS DECAYED AND ROOT IS REMANING IT WILL COUSE PAIN AND INFECTION SO IT IS BEST TO REMOVE IT.
You cannot affix a cemented or screw retained bridge to an implant and a tooth , but you can affix a cemented or screw retained bridge to either implants or to teeth. If you are wanting to utilize a removable partial or full denture to implants, then the answer is yes.
If it's single unit implants, you need to place a crown after implants placed with certain time after surgery. It depends on the implants system used by your dentist. If an implant is placed and needs to connect it to other teeth, yes, then you need a bridge, but it depends on the prognosis of the adjacent teeth, so your dentist will decide the best treatment needed.
Yes you can. However, you need at least two implants and a space between the implants to be able to place a bridge.
The term "bridge" is often used to describe different dental prostheses. A fixed bridge consists of 2 ends with a space in the middle. The ends can be teeth or implants and the middle would be a missing tooth. It is not recommended but sometimes done to connect 1 implant to 1 natural tooth, because teeth can move but implants cannot making this procedure a little risky. A removable bridge which I call a partial bridge is taken out of the mouth daily to clean. This type of restoration has greater retention with implants underneath. It can be a bit confusing but your dentist will often have models or photos to explain each option and help you pick the best option for you.
