“Can you work in aerospace medicine if you suffer from social anxiety?”
I am a 22-year-old male. I was diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder. Can you work in aerospace medicine if you suffer from social anxiety?

Social anxiety can be treated quite successfully, and I should see no reason that it should interfere with a job in the aerospace industry.
That depends on how you cope with your social anxiety. If you work hard at managing your anxiety , you can probably be successful. Use vigorous exercise to manage your anxiety and consider mindfulness meditation as another way of managing your emotions.
Social anxiety disorder usually comes as comorbidity with generalized anxiety disorder and in this regard would not be good for this kind of job. If someone has just pure social anxiety disorder, that may be okay, but again, working in that setting can still expose one to some social interactions. Nonetheless, all these illnesses are very treatable.
