“Children's Motrin vs. Tylenol? ”
My mother and I actually got into an argument about which medicine is better for my daughter's fever. I used Children's Motrin to help her fever (it was at 102, and she's 7 years old), but my mother still insists that I should have used Tylenol instead. In your experience, which children's medicine is better?

Most pediatricians will recommend Tylenol over Ibuprofen because of its long track record of safety at therapeutic doses. It's best to consult your pediatrician.
In my experience, both work just fine. For a long time Tylenol was considered the “go-to” medication for fever reduction, but either one works. In fact, if you find yourself giving too much of one medication to your child, it is best to alternate doses with ibuprofen and tylenol

Both Motrin and Tylenol help relieve fevers and I don't think one is necessarily better than the other. The main difference between the two is that Motrin will help treat inflammation, while Tylenol will not.
Motrin works better for higher fevers, however, it does have more potential side effects (GI irritation). I personally like to alternate both Motrin and Tylenol every 4 hours, but I usually start with Motrin. Either med will work for fever, however, it just depends on your preference.
