Covid-19?

Hi, I was sick at the beginning of March. Upper respiratory infection, fever, loss of taste, and smell. I was never tested due to the lack of tests. A couple of weeks ago my doctor said I met the criteria for anybody test SARS-Cov-2 IgG AB year. It came back positive for IgG antibodies with an Index value of 3. Is a 3 a decent amount of antibodies for protection? I know they don’t know yet if antibodies for this protect us at all, but IF they did would a 3 be considered good?

Unfortunately, we cannot say with any certainty what level of antibodies will be protective...it's likely you will be immune for awhile, but we also have no idea of how long you will be immune to another attack.
Hi,

A positive IgG antibody test to COVID-19 would likely confirm that you had a COVID-19 infection. I'm glad that it wasn't too serious! In most cases, having IgG antibodies to a given pathogen, like measles, for example, would suggest that you would have long-lasting immunity against this disease. However, with COVID-19, it has not been sufficiently studied to know whether this is true or not. Hopefully, with further research, we'll have an answer to this question.

Stay tuned!

From your description, I predict that you have acquired some antibody protection against the SARS-CoV-2. It is currently not known how long this will last. I am glad to hear that you overcame the infection.
Yes the levels are adequate though degrees of immunity is unknown. Most likely immunity is time limited as known with flu needing seasonal vaccinations.
