Massage Therapist Questions Deep tissue massage

Do the effects of a deep tissue massage last longer?

I'm 30 years old, and I had a back injury from a long time ago that I still need to heal from. I had this injury from a car accident 6 months ago. Do you think I should get a deep tissue massage? Will it help me with my back?

There are many forms of deep tissue. If your body is in a state if acute pain, I would not recommend deep tissue. I would recommend finding a Manual or Clinical Therapist for Bodywork to accommodate the acute issues of pain first.
Without seeing you, I cannot say what modality will be the most appropriate to bring you pain relief.  In some cases, the client or condition does not tolerate deep tissue massage.  In those cases, Trager or CST will achieve the desired result.  Dahana
Deep tissue is one of many modalities. I would recommend a variety of them and finding a therapist who has had training in many different ones.
Maybe. It is not that the massage is deep or not. It is more helpful if you can find a massage therapist that has a great skill set and type of massage that when applied could help it last longer by a few days. Going weekly, by monthly or monthly can help massage last longer.
Thank you for your question! I would not start your massage treatments with deep pressure massage. It's best to start out conservative and then push little by little to see what your injury will handle/tolerate. That way we don't cause spasms or other side effects from the massage.
Yes any massage will help with the pain. You will need to get regular massage treatments though for it to have prolonged effect. Not just once
