Does a laparoscopy require general anesthesia?

I am a 39 year old male. I want to know if a laparoscopy requires general anesthesia?

Yes, general anesthesia is almost always required. When your abdomen is inflated so, the surgeon can operate without making a large skin incision, you need breathing support.
Due to insuflation of abdomen and problaby compromise of breathing; general intubated anesthesia is recommended
