Does breastfeeding cause mood swings?

I am a 22 year old female. I want to know if breastfeeding causes mood swings?

Why wouldn’t breastfeeding cause mood swings? We know this for sure; hormones effect the way we feel. Women’s hormones are far more complicated than men’s (they are designed to have babies). Whether it is estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or in this case, prolactin; breastfeeding can cause mood swings.

Breast-feeding is associated with many many emotional connections on so many different levels. Most importantly, if you are experiencing various mood states, the best thing to do is really to talk to a professional. Ideally, a psychiatrist specializing in perinatal moods. It could be very very helpful.
