On convertibles I failed to mention that side windows on cars may not have adequate sun ray protection and if they do have adequate protection it is like sunbathing, time sensitive; of course the open window eliminates the protection altogether. The exposed arm is simply more vulnerable to sunburn and malignancy development. The "one for the road" practice is obviously to be avoided. Age lowers tolerance and gender increases vulnerability. Women cannot imbibe as much as men without intoxication and ease.

The Statistics Among Women

Some women are still outliving men across race, socioeconomic status, and education. Despite climbing toward male usage statistics in opioid addiction, smoking, and alcoholism, the relative non usage of guns for suicide and assault depresses female suicide and homicide statistics. There has been an increase in female crime and incarceration, a far cry (no pun intended), from pursuing happiness. The national divorce rate is about 50%, this is clearly age related. Parenthetically, the number of women shot to death by police forces across the nation is increasing.

There is a difference between the acquisition of money and the development of wealth. There is a difference between these two entities and the attainment of a state of happiness. The American Psychiatric Association, The American Psychological Association, The National Association of Social Workers, The Visiting Nurses Association, etc. are now zeroing in on this distinction in their counseling function and training.

Rage Is More Available Than Joy

In the parking lot of a hospital linked Physicians center, my wife and I ran into a major dispute between two men arguing about access to a parking space. Shut the f*** up shouted the one on foot who started menacingly toward the car driver who got out of his car, all 6'6" of him. This did not deter the shouter who kept advancing but indicated an available spot for the giant to park in. The giant got back into his car, backed up, nearly hitting my wife and took another space.

This episode of feckless rage was added to by a pharmacy visit where a woman shrieked that her place was being usurped when I placed some heavy packages on the side counter before getting in line behind her. It would appear that rage is more available than joy.

The pursuit of happiness has evolved with the practice of vaping, replacing to some extent smoking tobacco. The CDC has issued a formal warning about the danger of the practice. Cardiopulmonary failures and death being the result unpredictably, but inevitably dys ease.
