“How can I get rid of teeth stains caused due to smoking?”
I was a chain smoker and now I have stains on my teeth. What should I do to get rid of them?

Rotary instruments used by your dentist are the most effective way to eliminate stain with a mild degree of pumice in order to use abrasive cleansing a little protective added in the form of fluoride if necessary to assure the stain is properly removed. You're a gymnast; may recommend visits more often than twice yearly to have your teeth prophylactically cleaned in cases of heavy smoking or caffeine exposures.
Quit smoking, and have a dental professional instruct you on how to master the technique of brushing. Keep up with professional cleanings.
To remove stains, have a cleaning with your dental office and they can use a prophy jet in addition to the cleaning. Follow this with teeth whitening.
Thanks!

Smoking stains are one type of "extrinsic" stains which are concentrated on the surface as opposed to "intrinsic" stains which is the color of the teeth that we are born with. Extrinsic stains are easily removed with surface whiteners. The most effective whitening systems are ones that involve placing whitening agents into custom fitting trays made by a dentist and work from two hours to over night. Typically 7-14 applications are necessary to achieve the desired whitened shade; however no two people's teeth whiten the same way.
Thanks for your question.
Smoking can certainly leave a lot of staining. Much of it is superficial but some also gets deeply engrained into the tooth. Superficial staining can be removed during your professional
cleaning by your dental hygienist with the polishing and professional cleaning. Certain home care tools can certainly help as well such as a high quality electric toothbrush and flossing. At the very least these great home care tools can help prevent further staining or allow longer before the stain builds up. You may also be a candidate after the
professional cleaning for in office or at home whitening options. In addition to all this, your dental office will need to work with you to evaluate with an examination of the gums and the bone and dental X-rays to see the health of the bone and gums. Smoking is known to cause periodontal disease or bone loss; so in addition to the stain, it would be important to
know the overall health of the teeth and gums. Smoking cessation would ultimately be the healthiest option; if that is not possible, the above pointers will help keep your smile whiter and brighter.

Good day,
I advise you to visit a dentist or oral hygienist to have scaling and polishing done.

I would start with a professional cleaning to remove tarter and surface stains. If no dental problems are present, then you can use any type of whitening aide, from professional whitening trays down to whitening strips over the counter. Any whitening toothpaste will not be strong enough to reverse smoking stains.
Go to the dentist and have your teeth professionally cleaned. Smoker's toothpaste can be very abrasive and damage your teeth over time.
