“My BP is high even when I'm taking the right medication. Am I at a risk of getting a stroke?”
I am a 48 year old man and I am on BP medication for the past 2 years. Despite of the medication, my BP continues to be high. Does this put me at risk of getting a stroke?

Uncontrolablef hypertension place a person at risk to have cardiovascular events like stroke, myocardial infarction, renal damage, ctc.. you made need adjustment of the medication dose or adding another anti hypertension medication. You physician should treat you to reach goal of no more of 130/80 BP.

Possibly. The usual cause of these findings is meds not strong enough. Your internist needs to evaluate you for other causes of hypertension besides essential hypertension. Good luck!
