Homeopathic Physician Questions Blood Pressure

Are there ways to bring down blood pressure naturally?

I don't want to take blood pressure meds for my high blood pressure but my family doctor insists on it. Are there natural/homeopathic ways to bring it down?

Yes, absolutely. But, they are not shortcuts. When I have a patient with high blood pressure, we may start with medication but add in dietary changes, exercise and supplements, possibly neurofeedback, to address underlying causes of high blood pressure. Then we can frequently take away the medication safely. High blood pressure is important to treat.
I agree that it's important to lower high blood pressure. There are different strategies that can include exercise, nutrition and supplements. Some supplements that could be considered include magnesium, coQ10, Hawthorne, and others.
Yes there are several supplemental products that can help lower blood pressure naturally. Depending on the severity of the blood pressure, they are not always a substitute for medication. Supplement companies out there have great formulas for hypertension. Magnesium, Fish Oil, CoQ10 and L-Arginine have all been shown to improve blood pressure and circulation. Among other benefits. Dosing and supplement brands should be discussed with your provider.
It depends on how high your blood pressure is. But there are ways to help reduce high blood pressure. However, that requires proper evaluation. Unfortunately, unless you are a patient, I am unable to recommend any thing to you. Please find a doctor or practitioner in your area who is able to prescribe a supplement or medication to you.

Yes, lowering blood pressure is one of the easiest things Naturopathic Medicine can approach. Of course, it is an integration of aspects of Naturopathic Medicine and I'll be glad to help.
There are natural ways to lower blood pressure but if your blood pressure is substantially elevated it is important to take your medication while you work on other solutions to lower it. I would recommend working with a Naturopathic Doctor that can work with your medication as well as other lifestyle changes.
Yes, there are.
There are ayurvedic herbs that do it 80% of the time. I use them in my practice, but you need to be properly monitored.
Regarding bringing down blood pressure. This is a complex question without knowing the patients history or medication list. I would say first that each patients needs and histories are different and one size does not fit all. The etiology of high blood pressure is multifactorial, therefore there might be a multitude of lifestyle changes in order. Diet and nutrition is very important because the Standard American Diet is toxic and oftentimes deadly. Going forward I would say a diet including fatty fish. organic fowl, healthy nuts, vegetables , and low sugar fruits would be an ideal way to start lowering blood pressure. Additionally, adding low sodium foodstuffs and healthy fluids such as filtered water and low caffeine teas and coffee should be included. The addition of garlic, co-ensyme Q10, beets, beet crystals, and flax meal would be very helpful. Exercise is critically important. Finally, I would suggest working with an integrative clinician would be wise considering that most western medicine professionals are not well versed in these topics.

Yes, there are ways to bring down your blood pressure! physical exercise (cardio) and beetroot will do wonders for lowering your blood-pressure. I would run this by your PCP as the information you provided is not enough alone for me to advise that you ditch your blood pressure medication. There could be other factors involved, that said, exercise regularly and incorporate beetroot into your diet either by juicing them or making salads (healthy choices healthy heart).
There are ways but it depends on the cause of the high blood pressure.
