Usually a topical retenoid is best but, on an individual basis, elective surgery
One can purchase an instrument called a "comedone extractor," made to remove blackheads. Works very well.

Blackheads or open comedones, can be removed by physical/mechanical means with comedones extractors at your dermatologist office. If they are more superficial you can try using extraction facials at your aestheticians office. For more information please make an appointment with your dermatologist.
