How can I tell if I have a lung infection?

I am a 34 year old male and I cough a lot recently. I am afraid I might have a lung infection. How can I tell if I have a lung infection?

There are two type of cough, productive (with mucus secretions), and non-productive (no mucus secretions). A lung infection is a medical diagnosis made by the physician. I recommend for you to seek medical attention for a proper diagnosis. The etiology (cause) of lung infection is broad and laboratory tests as well as ancillary services (X-ray, CT etc.), may be needed. Thank you.
You ask a doctor who examines you and maybe does a chest X-ray.
See a doctor and get a chest x-ray for an exact diagnosis.
If you have a fever and produce sputum with your cough you may have a lung infection.
