It needs to be examined, and the type of pain it is may lead to an ultrasound, colonoscopy, or gastroscopy.
SERIOUS abdominal pain is just that PAIN that is severe, pain that is 10/10 not improved with anything you do and lasts for more than 1-2 days. Serious abdominal pain is also accompanied by nausea, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, shortness of breath, and fever. In a patient your age, some common causes of serious abdominal pain include appendicitis. Pain that may start in center of abdomen and localizes to the right side. It is accompanied also by fever, nausea, and vomiting. Kidney stones may also be a serious cause. This type of pain may
occur in the back or side and radiates to groin area. It is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and pain.
The term stomach pain is often used when someone is referring to any abdominal pain. Right lower quadrant abdominal pain that starts abruptly is serious and needs to be evaluated. Pain that also has fever, weight loss and decreased appetite is also possibly serious. Stomach pain that is affected by stress or that is described as a cramping or bloating is less serious.
If the pain is like non other you have ever felt and it is keeping you awake. Generally pain that comes and goes in the abdomen is usually gas.
Try jumping up and down. If the pain is excruciating go see your doctor/ER.
