I am a 34 year old male. I want to know how do they do a nerve block for hand surgery?

We use ultrasound machine to locate the nerve bundles in your axilla (arm pit). And inject numbing medicine. This numbs the arm, mainly the hand, for several hours.
Could be intravenous block or perpheral nerve block
