Fungal ear infection (Otomycosis), most fungal ear infections last about three weeks. You need to take antifungal medication or use antifungal ear drops until the infection clears up. Please, contact your doctor. Thank you.
If you were told by a general practitioner that you have fungus, first you should question the diagnosis. Active fungal infection is manifest by pain, hearing loss, and sometimes drainage. Treatment is to remove all of the fungus from the ear (by an ENT if you can't) and then using Lotrimin solution or Tinactin solution twice a day for 3 days. These two meds are over the counter or by prescription, but for some reason they can be hard to find in drugstores. Either works in about 99 per cent of cases. Other anti-fungals are occasionally required.

Another form of fungus in the ear is what is called a saprophytic infection, in which a small amount of fungus lives in the ear canal and causes no symptoms whatever. When treated, it usually recurs in spite of all measures. I have never heard a satisfactory explanation for this.

This will require a visit to an ENT and they can start you on the appropriate treatment
Go to a health care provider and have them clean your ears. If something is suspicious for fungus, it needs to be confirmed so you can receive the proper treatment.

Hello,

Tough problem- must see your ENT physician as he must manually remove and treat.

See an ENT. Ear canal needs to be cleaned with cresylate or acetosol. May need mycostatin powder as well. Ear canal needs to be re-acidified.
