clinical exam, experience of his and our colleagues, various research studies and he/she determines potential benefits vs the risks
Radiation treatment uses to treat cancer for cure and palliative for symptoms such as pain, relieve compression of critical organs causing loss of normal functions or stop bleeding. For cure we can use alone in the early stage I or 2 of cancer voice box ( larynx) to preserve organ or early breast cancer (T1 or T2) treated with lumpectomy and node sampling instead of modified mastectomy( remove the breast and lymph nodes in axilla).Radiation treatment also uses for combined chemotherapy and surgery for advanced cancer lung, rectum cervix head & neck and breast.Chemotherapy and radiation therapy for lymphoma or small cell lung cancer.
