“How does a misshapen hippocampus occur?”
I have read that when children are abused, they can have a misshapen hippocampus. Is that what causes a misshapen hippocampus?

Misshapen hippocampus can occur with seizures but many are born with it. Please meet a neurologist to discuss it further if needed.
There can be increased stress hormones such as cortisol or interruption of blood supply which causes decreased hippocampus size esp on L. This then affects mood and memory
