There is an area in the brain that measures how much estrogen is in the blood stream. Colmid blocks this system so that this part of the brain thinks there is less estrogen in the blood than is actually there. The brain then increased a hormone called Follicular Stimulating Hormone (FSH) that tells the ovaries to produce more estrogen. The ovaries in turn do this by producing more than one egg per month. The more eggs the better the chance of pregnancy. I also increased the chances of twins.
Clovis is what we call an estrogen receptor agonist. In other words it turns on the estrogen receptor. In order to ovulate there needs to be a "surge" of estrogen that your brain sees. When you have that surge you ovulate. The manner in which clinic is given is important. It is suppose to mimic that surge of estrogen so that your body will respond to produce a mature egg and then ovulate.
