How long can a decayed tooth go untreated?

I am a 25 year old male. I want to know how long can a decayed tooth go untreated?

As long as you want. Of course, the tooth could abscess, severe pain and swelling, or it may crumble away to nothing, or it may just rot out. If you wait too long, you may not be able to save it. Don't wait...it only gets worse, more difficult, and painful.
Good Luck.
There is no right answer for this question. If I were you, I would get it treated ASAP.
You may be able to wait a few weeks or months, or it could already be too late. The best advice I can give you is get in as soon as possible.
If left untreated, a decaying tooth will continue to decay. As the decay progresses deep enough, the tooth may become infected or even be "nonrestorable" This process may take weeks or months. It is important to see a dentist to repair tooth decay soon after it is noted to prevent extension of the decay.
A decayed tooth should not be left untreated for a long period of time. Decay is not reversible and will continue to damage the tooth until it becomes so large you may lose tooth or require more costly and time consuming procedures.
