I am a 21 year old female who will have otoplasty surgery next week. I want to change the shape of my ears. How long do you have to wear bandages after an otoplasty?

I usually do not apply bandages after otoplasty surgery, rather, antibiotic ointment on the incision sites. I also usually apply a type of headband over the ears to support them right after surgery.

Bandages are usually on for a few days (3-7) until they can be removed.

This differs with every surgeon. I personally remove the surgical dressings at 48 hours and then provide my patients with a soft headband to wear at night to protect their ears from any tension or having their ears pulled forward while they are sleeping. Your surgeon should discuss all of the care that they recommend during your preoperative discussion.
