My son has tonsillitis with a fever. How long does a fever with tonsillitis last?

It depends on cause of tonsillitis. If it is bacterial like streptococcal, then given the appropriate antibiotic, the fever should be gone in a couple of days. But if the cause is viral, it could last a little longer, like 3-4 days also.
Depends on stage of hydration, use of antipyretics, start of antibiotics. generally speaking 1-3 days.
This depends on the cause of the tonsillitis. If it is strep and they are on antibiotics fever usually lasts about 2-3 days. If it is viral fever may be longer. With mono fever can be low-grade for several weeks
