It takes about 10 minutes to run the test on the machine. The time-limiting factors have to do with the staff, procedures, and policies at the testing facility. At my office, we can typically provide complete blood count results to the patients within 20 minutes after the blood is drawn.
Once the specimen gets to the lab, it takes only a few minutes if it's for a hemoglobin concentration. If, however, it is a more complicated test such as determining the specific type of hemoglobin, etc., this may take considerably longer.

It depends how busy the person is who takes your blood but from the time you sit down until the blood is drawn takes about three minutes. The results should be ready that day or the next.
