This question is best answered by a surgeon, but an uncomplicated surgery for diverticulitis should last less than an hour.
About 3-6 hours.
The surgery is generally between 1.5-3 hours. If you have severe disease, I have seen procedures that can last up to 7 hours.
Do you mean how long the surgery takes to be completed? That’s best answered by your surgeon. It depends on how much of the colon would need to be respected, and whether or not you have had perforated diverticulitis with abscess formation.
