My father is going to have a pacemaker placed very soon and he's 69 years old. How long is the recovery time after a pacemaker is placed?

Other than slight local soreness from the pacemaker pocket site, there should be minimal down time from a pacemaker insertion. But make sure he follows the instructions of his physician.
Total recovery time is one or two days but with limitation of activities
We usually watch people overnight and then send them home. It takes 2-4 weeks for the wound to heal nicely.
