“How long is the recovery after a root canal?”
I am a 47 year old female. I will have 2 root canals next week. How long is the recovery after a root canal?

Usually there is no recovery. You may be given antibiotics if there was an infection. Most root canals have no pain afterwards.
Postoperative pain after a root canal procedure generally worsens the first 2-3 days after the procedure and then improves during the following 7-10 days. It is important to follow all of the post-operative instructions given to one by their dentist to avoid complications in healing after the procedure.
In most circumstances, you recover in a few days to a week or so. However, if the tooth was badly infected, it may take a few months for all symptoms to resolve. Healing varies considerably in humans
Almost immediately. Sometimes it may take a few days, or if the tooth had an infection, then it may take a few days.
Hi,
Hopefully you will feel better and out of discomfort the next day or so. Just don't chew on anything hard until you get a crown put on those teeth!

If treated by an endodontist (root canal specialist), there should be no "recovery time" though I might recommend taking off from work and going shopping to take your mind off the treatment. An alternative is to tell your S.O. to deal with the kids/dog while you recover curled up with a glass of wine and a good book. You get no sympathy if you admit to feeling fine and going right back to your daily routine (which is what most people will do). Sorry for the sarcasm. Seriously, it usually is no different than a filling. Don't worry about it.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Recovery time after a root canal is usually immediate, meaning you should be able to go back to work or continue with the rest of your day. It is normal for the area around the tooth to be a little sore for a few days, but as long as you avoid chewing anything hard on it, that should eventually go away.
