“How many times a year should kids get a teeth whitening?”
My child goes for their checkup at least once every three months. How often should I take her to get her teeth whitened? She's 10-years-old.

No kid shall receive a teeth whitening cause it is acid on the teeth and their new teeth are not prepared for it. What you probably mean is tooth cleaning. SO often the appointment means that the child can improve in cleaning the teeth and you can help by giving every night an extra help with cleaning yourself first, the total time of cleaning to be 5 minutes.
I don’t recommend whitening for children. Her cleaning should be done every 6 months. With the exception of very poor oral hygiene, then the dentist may recommend every 3 months. Most insurance will pay 2x a year.
I've never - quite honestly - heard of a dentist recommending a 3 month recall of children to their office. There would have to be extenuating circumstances for this to occur. Also, are you meaning to use the word "whitened", or are you intending to mean the children's prophylaxis (cleaning)? We do not recommend bleaching on children, though there is some leeway in the discussion for high school children. I would certainly never recommend bleaching a 10 year old's teeth. As an aside, there is a program in place by some dental professionals to use peroxide in a gel form daily from age 5 to discourage the formation anaerobic bacteria which is potentially linked to systemic diseases. You can google a program called "Perio Protect" to learn more about it. I think the science is sound but the dental community is divided about its true potential. To conclude, don't bleach a young child's teeth and there has to be a significant reason that your child is seeing a dentist every 3 months.
I don't recommend getting kids teeth whitened. Teeth are not fully erupted, so if you whiten them then you will have lines across their teeth. I recommend whitening when kids are usually 15 or 16 (although there are age exceptions).
I commend you for taking your child for dental check ups and cleanings quarterly!!!! I don't recommend teeth whitening for pts under 16 years of age and definitely not "routinely".
Whitening means bleaching teeth and makes them whiter, which we do not recommend before age 14. Dental cleaning, on the other hand, should be at least twice a year, and for those who do not have good dental hygiene and/or have a lot of plaque build-up, it's recommended 3 or even 4 times per year. Please check with her dentist if your daughter needs to improve her dental hygiene!
A ten hour old should not be getting their teeth whitened. The teeth are not fully erupted and you will create lines on the permanent tooth from where it has been whitened to where it has not been as it erupts. For senior pictures is usually when we feel that it’s safe. After that once/year as the whitening agent will make the tooth translucent giving it a gray appearance because the back of the mouth is dark and you’re seeing through the tooth. Better brushing is the key along with nasal breathing so the teeth don’t yellow from the plaque and food dyes.

My opinion only not substantiated by research, but I would lean toward whitening only once per year at the most and use a fluoridated toothpaste instead one that is recognized by the American Dental Association. Over whitening of teeth can lead to hypersensitivity and becomes a difficult problem destructively
