Whitening is very product dependent. I would talk with your dentist. You could experience some tooth damage if whitening too often, with particular products. Look for sensitivity and talk to your dentist
It is, depending on the type of bleaching and the strength of material that you are using. In general, it's better to wait 2-4 months in between treatment and definitely pay attention to your sensitivity and don't overdo it.
Depending on the concentration of peroxide in the whitening components and the reaction of your teeth to the same would determine along with sensitivity whether or not it would be appropriate to do another treatment within a year.
This is a very large because there are so many variables... depending on your present oral conditions, habits, age as well as the type of whitening you are requesting. I can give you some generalizations. For in office bleaching -4 sessions initially with 1 session yearly thereafter. Take Home whitening kits 2 weeks of bleaching initially with 1 hour touch ups monthly thereafter. Whitening strips I would advise to follow the take home protocol. Hope this helps. If you are not getting the results you desire from bleaching you may be a candidate for veneers in order to get the tooth color you desire.
When you say, "How should I get them a year?" it makes me think you are receiving your whitenings at the dental office. Have your dentist construct bleaching trays for you. You can purchase gel to put in them. Some gel is intended to be worn in the trays over your teeth for ten minutes or so. Other gels are for overnight or so. Work with your dentist on which would be best for you. This way you can whiten you teeth as often as you like. There have been people with very severe natural stains from birth that have used mild whitening every night for a year or so with no known harm. The stronger gels can cause some problems used this much. Again, your dentist can help you select what is best for your needs. DO NOT get these trays or gel from a source other than a dental office.
