It's potentially serious for anyone -- keep a close eye and follow guidance to avoid exposure.
It is rarely a serious illness in children. Apparently, it rarely is followed by Kawasaki’s disease. So, not totally to be ignored. Just know that Kawasaki’s disease is rare.

Based on data from China much fewer children seemed to have gotten the infection when compared to adults: perhaps 1-2 children among 100 total infected adults and children combined. One report showed 3 deaths among the 171 children who were infected. The children with serious infections all had pre-existing medical conditions. Majority of infected children had mild disease.
So far, there have been no fatalities in children whatsoever. It’s too soon to say exactly what the disease will look like in kids, but I suspect it will be similar to influenza or perhaps a bit milder for most healthy children who are not on immune suppressive therapy and don’t have significant underlying chronic diseases. If I were you, I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

About the same as the flu. We are in the middle of flu season and FL has had 11 child deaths from the flu. So, make sure they have been vaccinated. No vaccine for Covid19.
