“How should I sleep after a tooth extraction?”
I'm going to have a wisdom tooth extraction next week, and I'm wondering if I need to sleep a certain way after it. How should I sleep after an extraction? Should I avoid sleeping on that side?

There is no right or wrong way to sleep after having a wisdom tooth extracted. It's more important to make sure there is no bleeding by bedtime. Make sure you follow your doctor's post-operative instructions. Biting firmly on gauze, using ice, etc., will help kickstart your healing. Be sure to take any prescribed medications as directed. Most of all, ask questions if you have any concerns.

You can sleep any way you find comfortable. Likely it will not be on the side you had the extraction. You might also want to prop your head up a little and put a towel on your pillow (in case you drool) as oozing is normal and your saliva may be tinted pink for a day or so.
