There is a series of behavioral rules and interventions. Evaluation and treatment includes looking for anxiety and depression. Apnea may need to be considered. Fixed bed and wake times are important. Screens and internet and phones need to be turned off and the phone removed from the bedroom. Daytime naps and sleeping late on weekends need to go away. A sleep specialist or a general pediatrician with an interest in sleep should be able to guide you through this.
