The root canaled tooth must be crowned and good oral hygiene practiced.
After a root canal, one must be careful to not bite on anything hard that could fracture the tooth or anything sticky that could pop a temporary filling off. Otherwise the tooth is typically brushed and flossed like normal. It is important to follow all the instructions given to you by your dentist after the procedure.
The tooth usually gets a crown afterward. Other than that, the usual care - brushing and flossing should work. No biting anything hard until it gets crowned.
Make sure to get the final restoration of the tooth as soon as possible.
Just don't chew anything hard and crunchy till you get the permanent filling and/or crown done.
The most important way to take care of your mouth after a root canal is to keep it as clean as possible in terms of your daily hygiene regimen, and to avoid chewing anything hard on the tooth that had the root canal until it has been restored permanently.
