Ophthalmologist Questions Contact Lenses

I want to wear contacts

I would really like to wear contacts, but every time I try it feels like the inside of my left eyelid is being lacerated. What is causing this? Can I ever wear them?

A complete eye examination can help the doctor determine which brand of contact lenses is best for you.
The contact may not fit right or you could have something wrong with your eyelid. See an ophthalmologist.
You should not wear them if your eyes hurt. Talk to your eye doctor for alternative treatments
Hallo
You most probably have a dry eye. You can sooth the surface with a moisturizing drop but you have your see an ophthalmologist to establish the cause and underlying pre-disposing condition.
Can be a fit issue with the lens. Could be a structural problem with the under surface of the eyelid. Have your eye doctor flip your eyelid and have a look.
Check with a MD ophthalmologist re corneal issues.
I would have your Doctor assess the backside of your eyelid for Allergic GPC. That could be treated if present. Then, I would recommend being fit with a 1-Day Disposable Soft Contact Lens if they are available in your RX.
Good luck. T Wolf MD
