My child's doctor recommended block anesthetic for my child's surgery. Is a block anesthetic safe for children to be under?

Yes. We usually don't perform surgeries with children under just a block, with the exception of doing so with infants under spinal anesthesia. However, while asleep, we do perform blocks for post-op pain control.
