“Is a knee surgery safe?”
I am a 32 year old woman and I met with an accident 1 week back. My knee hurts a lot since the surgery. Yesterday in the X-ray the doctor saw a slight knee dislocation. Is surgery the only way to correct it? Is it safe or will it have side effects?

Hello and thank you for your question. And I am sorry about your accident. You ask if knee surgery, in general, is a safe procedure and whether there may be any long-term sequelae. As a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, I am not by any means an expert on knee surgery. I recommend you seek out a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, preferably someone who does a lot of knee surgery, to direct your question to.
