I am a 23 year old female. I want to know if a pregnancy test is accurate?

It measures the level of HCG in your urine so if you check it BEFORE the levels rise, it will be neg. Pregnancy tests now however, can detect it sometimes as soon as 1 week late on your period.

They can be. I've seen the urine tests be negative when women were actually pregnant. So, not always. I defer to blood testing if an answer is absolutely needed.

Urine home pregnancy tests are 95%-99% accurate. The only way you would know if the pregnancy is in the right place (uterus) is with an ultrasound.
