I lost my child to a miscarriage about two months ago. Since then, I've been having on-again off-again pain in my lower abdomen area. Is abdominal pain common after a miscarriage?

This is not usually,common or normal. You need to visit your doctor.
First of all, I am so very sorry this happened to you. I do hope that you are coping and that you have some support. Pain that persists for 2 months following a miscarriage should really be evaluated soon by your ob/gyn physician with an exam, lab work, and a pelvic ultrasound to look at the uterus and ovaries.
