“Is a chiropractic adjustment needed after a sports injury?”
I'm a 20 year old soccer player and I hurt my back while playing on the field. I have had pain already for 5 days. Should I see a chiropractor for treatment?

I always suggest seeing the chiropractor not only after injuries, but also before injuries for prevention and performance. You want the body to heal quickly and correctly after injuries so you definitely want to be checked by your chiropractor after injuries.
Always helps to heal after surgery because it optimizes nervous system function that controls healing.
Depends on how you were hurt. Did you pull something? Was there a direct blow to that area? What kind of pain are you having? Does it radiate anywhere? All questions that will help decide what type of treatment would be best. My recommendation is see a qualified Sports injury doctor for evaluation and treatment. There are certified chiropractic sports physicians that treat many sports injuries.

You should always see your chiropractor after any injuries or falls as soon as possible. If you needed to go to the emergency room be sure to let your chiropractor know so you can be treated as soon as you are able. Restoring spinal alignment will ensure you can avoid chronic pain and return to sports safely. Chiropractic restores proper alignment and improves all sports performance as well. You’ll enjoy greater range of motion and enhanced structural performance as a result of being aligned.
It would be a good idea to get it checked out by a chiropractor. The sooner the better. The longer you suffer from it without doing anything whether it’s chiropractic or some other therapy, the harder it is for it to go away
You never know until you get checked. There are also modalities that can be helpful to a faster more complete healing. This includes cold laser therapy, electric muscle stimulation ice,
ultrasound to name a few.

Definitely look for a sports/orthopedic chiropractor to treat your back. Anything lasting over 3 days should be evaluated and treated. Medicine won't help fix the problem at this point. Sports chiropractors are trained to treat athletes in various sports with a combination of chiropractic and physical therapy.
Yes, you should absolutely see a chiropractor. If you are going to ask your body to operate at a higher optimum level, which includes sports then the central nervous system that controls and coordinates all muscles and firing patterns of the nerves which innovate those muscles must also be working at its optimum level. Most major athletes have a chiropractor that treats them and most football and baseball teams have team chiropractors. I myself competed for 25 years in the Martial Arts and I always used a chiropractor as did my entire school. Not only will a chiropractor help you with your acute injury but they will also be able to tell you what muscles you are favoring and maybe help you be an even better player.
YES!! Many pro teams have a Doctor of Chiropractic on staff. I treat a lot of pro Lacross players. Get to one ASAP.
Certainly you should visit your chiropractor when your back has been hurt, whether from a sports accident or everyday life events. If chiropractic treatment is not applicable, the chiropractor should direct you to an appropriate specialist.
