Dermabrasion is not painful. It is done in a hospital setting as an outpatient procedure. You will be swollen and red for about 7 - 10 days.

The procedure is done by placing a block with an anesthetic material or putting you to sleep. This means the procedure should not be painful. Keeping the area elevated, using pain medication as needed should make the procedure very reasonable in the post operative period. Make sure the one doing the procedure has a lot of experience for a good result.
