Anesthesiologist Questions Local Anesthesia

Is it better to have a local or general anesthetic for cysts?

I need to have a cyst removed from my eye. My doctor can do it with local anesthesia, but he says I can have it done at the hospital with general anesthesia. Which do you think is better for cyst removal?

Follow your doctor's advice. If he recommends general and in the hospital, he knows why.
It sounds like a very minimal procedure for which local (numbing medicine) should be more than adequate. If you are squeamish, close your eyes and visualize a nice beach.

If I am given a choice, I will go for local it is office procedure and usually very safe. Unless it is very big, you should not need general anesthetic for it. It also will be more expensive option.
