Is it normal for gums to hurt after dental anesthesia?

I am a 33 year old male. I want to know if it is normal for gums to hurt after dental anesthesia?

Yes. The tissue may be bruised and sometimes swollen at the injection site.
Yes gums can hurt following anesthetic, or due to the procedure itself.
Yes, that is normal. You can get some bruising and inflammation where the injection was given. Especially if the injection was given around the tooth which was worked on.

Yes, it is possible for your gingiva to be discomforting after dental anesthesia injection(s). Take Ibuprofen or Aleve as directed to reduce the inflammation reaction you may be having. Warm salt water rinses 3 to 5 times per day for 3 to 5 days may also be beneficial.
