Yes local anesthesia is used during a breast biopsy.
It might be possible. At the same time, even if it is possible, that might not be practical. The best advice is to present this question to your anesthesiologist and surgeon, then see what their responses are for your particular situation.
Excisional breast biopsies and lumpectomies can be done with local and sedation, but are also often done under general anesthesia.
Yes, most surgeons will use local anesthetic for breast biopsy unless you are allergic to it. Depending on the size and location, it can also be done with sedation under anesthesia.
I would recommend local anesthesia with intravenous sedation if the needle localization is just under the skin. If the biopsy is deeper in the breast tissue then intravenous anesthesia ( general anesthesia) is preferable. Breast tissue is highly sensitive. Also, your surgeon may have a preference for the sort of anesthesia he/she is comfortable with you. What is paramount is your feelings and making sure you don’t experience any discomfort.
Yes.
That is certainly possible. I would suggest asking your surgeon so you can determine what will be best choice for you.
