Prior to the procedure, you will receive numbing medication (local injection of lidocaine). There will be an initial sting and burn from the injection, but after this, you shouldn't feel anything during the procedure. Following the procedure, there may be some pain as you recover, for the first day or two, and depending on how extensive your procedure was. But your surgeon may elect to give you pain medication to help with this.
Hi, If you are needing Mohs surgery you likely had a skin biopsy to confirm the type of cancer first. Mohs surgery is performed under local anesthesia using lidocaine, just like when you had a skin biopsy. Once, you are numb there is minimal to no pain. I hope this was helpful.
No more than any other surgery. Mohs are usually done under local anesthesia (so you are not knocked out). To achieve numbing we usually do the same procedure to numb as was done for the biopsy = most people do not find this too painful.
The area to be operated upon will be numbed with a local anesthetic. You should have no pain after that treatment.
It's NOT painful. With all procedures, it varies by patients and by doctors. Please check with your local dermatologist for treatment options.
